Cellex-C – At A Glance

Cellex-C is the brand name for a line of products featuring a patented blend of Vitamin C based formulations. Although little information is available about the company that develops and manufactures the Cellex-C product line, Joan Collins is the face of Cellex-C as their spokesperson on the official website. Cellex-C manufactures several product including baby care, acne treatments, skin enhancers, sun care, wrinkle care and cleansers, all with the company’s patented Cellex-C Complex.

As a cellulite reducing treatment, Cellex-C Body Smoothing Lotion relies on supplementing the skin’s natural Viatmin C production with a proprietary blend of ingredients, the foundation of which is a patented Cellex-C complex of Ascorbic Acid. The literature claims that Cellex-C is the original formulation that pioneered the worldwide interest in the topical application of Vitamin C as a skin treatment.

Cellex-C – Facts

Cellex-C

Cellex-C Body Smoothing Lotion is as the name suggests based on a Vitamin C formulation designed to minimize the appearance of cellulite while toning and firming sagging skin. Little information is provided as to how their blend of ingredients addresses cellulite specifically, in fact most of the literature discusses sagging skin and wrinkles rather than the bumps and dimples particular to cellulite. Regular use of the scented, peach colored topical application for 8 to 12 weeks is said to neutralize the visible effects caused by the destructive forces of oxy-radicals and help the skin’s surface will feel smoother while making deeper wrinkles appear much less pronounced.

Very limited product ingredient information is listed on the manufacturer’s website about any of their products. An ingredient list is available on other web retailer sites. In addition to the Ascorbic Acid patented Cellex-C complex, L Tyrosine is listed as a patented Cellex-C complex, as is Zinc Sulfate. The formulation also includes Evening Primrose Oil, Aloe Vera Extract, and Bioflavonoids.

Cellex-C – Positive Features

  • The product formulation is patented.
  • Contact information for the manufacturer is available on the official website.
  • Celebrity and national magazine (Cosmopolitan) endorsements of product substantiate some claims.

Cellex-C – Negative Features

  • Limited product ingredient information is given.
  • Product is very expensive, at $130 for a 180 ml pump bottle.
  • No free product sample is offered.
  • No money back guarantee is offered on the official website.
  • Product literature does not address cellulite specifically.

Cellex-C – Conclusion

Cellex-C Body Smoothing Lotion Body Smoothing Lotion asks the user to take a leap of faith with a very expensive product that does not take the time to explain how it will address the user’s cellulite problem. There is little support of the skin renewing claims made by the “Cellex-C Complex,” patented formulations and nothing to suggest that it is targeted to the problems inherent in cellulite. Users can likely find a less expensive, better substantiated product.
