Discover the Cellulite Facts: Get Equipped with Accurate Information

cellulite treatmentNot All cellulite buzz is worth believing as there are tons of information out there that can extremely scare people, especially women, yet are not true. Spare yourself from unnecessary worries and learn the facts about cellulite.

The Culprit

So what is cellulite? Some people might tell you that the dimpled appearance in the different parts of the body is fat. Others might say the combination of water and toxins trapped beneath the skin is the culprit. Both are wrong. Cellulite involves fat but not fat alone. Moreover, there are no studies proving toxins of any kind that hinder fats from breaking down.

The lumpiness of cellulite is caused by fat build up in the areas of the body, specifically the hips, legs, thighs and buttocks which impedes the blood flow through the tissues. This results to distortion of connective tissues underneath the skin and uneven contours or texture of the skin.

The Probability of Having Cellulites

Hormones and heredity are the two unavoidable causes of cellulite. An increase in natural hormones that include prolactin, estrogen, thyroid hormones and insulin can make an individual more susceptible to cellulites. However, other factors including gender, skin thickness, age, lifestyle factors, clothing and the distribution of body fat in the body can influence the severity to which cellulite is visible.

People who eat excessive carbohydrates and fat, lack exercise and consume less fiber are more likely to have cellulite’s than active and healthy people. Increase the blood flow near the tissues in the body under the cellulite through exercise.

Tight clothing like under garments having tight elastics around the buttocks can also add to the rapid development of cellulite. Cellulites appear more often in women than men. This is true to some extent. Women are more prone to mounting up fat on the hips and thighs than men. Plus, the connective tissue beneath the skin of women is vulnerable to disruption as it has more stretch.

The shocking statistics saying, 85% of women with ages 19 and above develop cellulite on the thighs regardless of ancestry and weight, was reported by Cosmetics and Toiletries Magazine (2004).

Creams and Lotions Galore

Cosmetic procedures such as liposuction and mesotherapy are the recognized options for those who have the money and willing to take the risk. Devices including endermologie, non-ablative lasers and light systems, electrical muscle simulators and iontophoresis devices claim to effectively restructure skin and/or break down fat deposits. However, these options are excessively costly yet promise nothing. This is why a wide array of skin care product claiming to reduce the appearance of cellulite is mesmerizing since they cost less and easy to acquire.

Cellulite may seem impossible to remove, but diminishing the appearance is achievable. Creams, lotions and extracts containing safe ingredients can give you smooth skin you desire for the longest time. But before spending cash and time to sophisticated treatments, it won’t hurt to give chance to trusted and reputable skin care products.
