Fat Girl Sleep – At A Glance

Fat Girl Sleep is a night-time cellulite cream by Bliss, makers of the popular Fat Girl Slim cream. Based in New York City, Bliss Spa began to produce some of the more popular creams used on their clientele, and now produce a whole range of body creams and home spa treatments. The ‘Bliss’ philosophy is very light-hearted and humorous, using, as they say, a ‘fun, no attitude’ approach towards beauty.

The Bliss products can be bought directly from the company website or from independent retailers. The company website basically just lists the products they sell, with a brief explanation of each one. Other information and consumer reviews can be found on independent forums and websites and the general feedback regarding Fat Girl Sleep seems to be favourable. The cream has also been mentioned in some popular women’s magazines including ‘Self’ and ‘Harper’s Bazaar’.

Fat Girl Sleep – Facts

Fat Girl Sleep

Fat Girl Sleep is the night-time version of Fat Girl Slim, the main difference being the addition of lavender to the formula. Known for it’s relaxing and calming properties, lavender helps the user sleep more soundly, which, as studies have shown, can result in efficient weight loss. It is thought that sleep deprivation causes a reduction in the body’s ability to feel ‘full’, thereby causing the individual to overeat which, over time will cause weight gain.

Fat Girl Sleep contains a ‘Slenderizzze’ complex, it’s active ingredients being Sacred Lotus extract, Red Algae extract and Lavender extract. These ingredients work together to break down fat cells, reducing fat storage and inflammation. It also increases circulation and reduces water retention giving the skin a less ‘dimpled’ effect. The list of non-active ingredients in the product is lengthy. The first ingredient is water, followed by substances such as alcohol, shea butter and glycerine. There is no mention of the product being hypo-allergenic and it does contain two types of coloring, so those with sensitive skin may need to do a skin patch test prior to using. The company recommends that the cream is massaged into the troubled area 20-30 seconds before bedtime, but does not say how long the cream is supposed to be used for. Presumably it should be continued until the desired result is achieved.

Fat Girl Sleep – Positive Features

  • Bliss has a good reputation as a straightforward, ‘no attitude’ company whose products get results.
  • There is clinical evidence that getting more sleep can help with weight loss.
  • The product has excellent reviews on independent websites.
  • Fat Girl Sleep’s sister product Fat Girl Slim is extremely popular amongst consumers and reviewers and has had mentions in major magazines.

Fat Girl Sleep – Negative Features

  • Fat Girl Sleep has the image of being a ‘novelty’ product, not to be taken seriously.
  • The company recommend that Fat Girl Sleep is used with Fat Girl Slim and Love Handler to obtain optimum results, meaning further expense for the customer.

Fat Girl Sleep – Conclusion

Some consumers may be deterred by the company’s ‘tongue in cheek’ approach to something as problematic as cellulite, whilst others may like the light-hearted attitude. Either way, it does appear that this product should in fact be taken seriously as a cellulite treatment that actually delivers what it promises.

The product can be ordered directly from the company or from other beauty retailers such as Sephora. Fat Girl Sleep sells at a price of $38.00 for a 6 oz jar, which, in the world of cellulite treatments, is definitely not one of the more expensive. However, as most consumers know, along with using a cream, nothing really helps cellulite more than getting plenty of exercise, eating a balanced diet and drinking lots of water.
