Lipolene – At A Glance

Lipolene, a cellulite reduction product, is produced and manufactured by Skin Doctors Cosmeceuticals, a ten year old skincare product company serving over 30 countries. The Skin Doctors product line addresses a host of common beauty, skin and hair issues including lines, dark circles, acne and broken capillaries, but little information is available about the origins or medical or dermatological credentials of the organization.

As a cellulite reducing product, Lipolene relies on a precision-crafted plant based approach to combating cellulite. While the cream is one aspect of this strategy, Skin Doctors recommends a six-step cellulite busting program that begins with the application of Lipolene and features diet, exercise, massage and skin brushing to improve skin tone and keep cellulite from returning. There is no official Lipolene website and the Skin Doctors website does not appear to offer the product for sale. All offers for sale are in British pounds.

Lipolene – Facts

Lipolene

Skin Doctors Cosmeceuticals’ Lipolene features nine active anti-cellulite ingredients that promise to show smoothing results in a few weeks time. Starting with two xanthenes caffeine and theobroma cacao (cocoa) for their blood stimulating and diuretic effects, the Lipolene formulation also includes several other active ingredients-many of which have been clinically demonstrated to impact the appearance of cellulite including Forskolin, Seaweed, Gotu Kola, Rosemary Oil, Salicylic Acid, Apple Juice and Aloe Vera. Unfortunately, little solid information is given regarding how this long list of active ingredients was developed or how they work together in your body. In addition to massaging the product into the skin for 3 to 5 minutes twice per day, it is suggested that users shower and/or use skin brushing techniques to the skin prior to application. Some users not familiar with the skin brushing technique may find this unacceptable.

No full list of product ingredients is offered on the manufacturer website.

Lipolene – Positive Features

  • Clinical studies find the ingredients used in Lipolene to be effective in enhancing the appearance of cellulite.
  • Nine active anti-cellulite ingredients listed.

Lipolene – Negative Features

  • Product is difficult to order online in U.S. currency.
  • No free product sample is offered.
  • No full ingredients list is available.
  • No user testimonials are available.
  • Concentration of active (or inactive) ingredients is not available, making it difficult to determine the safety or efficacy of the product.

Lipolene – Conclusion

Lipolene is a confusing anti-cellulite product both because it is difficult to order and there is little information about the formulation. The overall approach to skincare seems to be to throw every ingredient that has ever been used against cellulite together into one cream and hope for the best. Lipolene ingredients have been shown to positively impact cellulite, but Skin Doctors has done little to support why their formulation works and has not bothered to list all product ingredients. Because there are so many cellulite reducing products available on the market, it seems unlikely users would want to jump to use a product whose producers won’t put forth the effort to educate their customers.

Not all cellulite treatments are created equally, and it is important to evaluate the potential of a product prior to purchasing it. A quality cellulite treatment must be formulated from compounds that are capable of actually penetrating deep enough into layers of skin to deliver the active ingredients to the cells that they need to affect in order to create noticeable results. Additionally, the stated active compounds should actually be capable of reducing cellulite; such ingredients should be able to minimize pockets of fat, which should in turn reduce the appearance of cellulite. Finally, a cellulite cream's ingredients must all be of the highest quality and should contain compounds that can work to tighten and smooth skin in order to combat the drying effect of cellulite. Below you'll find some of the top cellulite creams, as well as ratings evaluating how well each of these creams meets these standards of quality.
