Reducing Eye Bags – Steps to Success

By: Melissa Snyte

There is nothing as frustrating as having the swollen, puffy, dark circles under your eyes known as eye bags. And while throwing some makeup over them in an effort to hide them may be an option for some, reducing eye bags is very possible if you take the time to learn just how to do so effectively. In most cases reducing eye bags can be completed through a few simple steps, so take a few moments to learn them. If you keep all of the major steps in mind and follow them then reducing eye bags will be much easier than you probably realize.

To start with, assess your situation. Reducing eye bags successfully begins with figuring out just why you have them in the first place. There are plenty of treatment options, but oftentimes reducing eye bags means eliminating the cause first. This way the underlying cause won’t be a factor that you’re struggling against. Lack of sleep, smoking, stress, drinking, heavy sun exposure, poor diet, lack of exercise, and simple aging can all be a factor in the development and prevalence of your eye bags. And all but the last can be avoided or reduced, thereby helping with your efforts for reducing eye bags.

Next you’ll want to find a good cream designed for reducing eye bags. There are plenty to choose from, but look for one that focuses on reducing eye bags through the reduction of swelling as well as eliminating the discolorations that often accompany the issue. You should be able to find one that is packed with vitamins and nutrients, that is natural, and that doesn’t contain pore clogging ingredients that could cause more problems while reducing eye bags. These creams are important long term tools in reducing eye bags, so pick the right one for you carefully.

You will also want to go about reducing eye bags by using some simple home remedies to reduce the swelling. These techniques can be effective at reducing eye bags quickly and temporarily and are important to know. You can place a very cold compress or even a cold spoon over your eyes for fifteen to twenty minutes, soak a cotton ball in milk and place below your eyes, or even slice lemons, cucumbers, or potatoes and place them over your eyes for fifteen to twenty minutes. All of these are effective at reducing eye bags to a degree. Using all of these techniques and tools, reducing eye bags isn’t as difficult as you think.
