Beauty and Health: Hair Color Is Makeup Still

In this era we are living today, Beauty has gone to a whole new level. Gone are the days when people (in this context mostly women) used to apply lotion on their bodies and some dash of powder on their faces and they would look and feel beautiful. Those days are long gone. Nowadays people strive for perfect “everything”; from the body shape to the color of the skin. Well, this is modernization and all the equipments to do that are readily available. Speaking of equipments, what’s up with everyone and their love for makeup? Oh, I can’t step out of the house without makeup. A friend of mine tells me that makeup was invented to help people make nearly perfect, those spots in them that they think aren’t perfect. While this may not be entirely true, it has helped greatly in making people look more beautiful.

Ask wiki and it will tell you makeup, also known as cosmetics, is a number of care substances that enhance the appearance or odor of the human body. They are chemical compounds mixtures, some derived from the natural sources while others are synthetics. It aims to alter the appearance without affecting the body’s structure or functions. Most people view makeup only as something that is applied on the face. This is not entirely true as some, such as skin care creams affect the whole body. Other types of makeup include perfumes, lipsticks, nail polish, deodorants, hair colors and many others.

Hair color as a makeup aims to change the appearance of your hair. We all have different human hair colors ranging from black, brown, and blonde all the way to auburn. Most are times you will find people not comfortable with their hair colors and from here comes the need for hair coloring. For others, it might be the urge to try something new. Why not start with new hair? Still other may want to color their hair after discovering age has caught up with them real soon and they have started showing grey hair.

Hair color comes in different colors from the naturally available human hair colors to a few additional ones. It aims to make the natural hair color a few shades lighter of a few shades darker. Through hair coloring you are able to change the color of your hair to one which suits you best. You can do it at home or if you are a bit skeptical like me, ask a professional hair dresser to help you out. Of course you will have to part with a few dollars but it will be worth it. There are so many types of dyes available in the stores today for purposes of hair coloring. While they will help you achieve your wish, some of them have adverse effects such as skin irritation.

However, it is important to note that there exist a number of natural hair colors that you can opt for. The best thing about them is that you are assured they have no effects and need I say they are safe and inexpensive. Such hair dyes include:

1. Lemons

Lemon juice acts as natural bleach. A long time ago, this is how the women used to bleach their hair. How easy was it to maintain a woman then? It however works slowly and thus requires a number of uses to see the results. To intensify the lightening effects, expose the lemon treated hair to sunlight.

2. Coffee or Black tea

Looking for an ingredient to darken your hair? Look no further than the coffee in your cupboard. Strongly brewed black coffee acts as a darkening hair rinse. Allow the coffee to steep for a long time then dip your hair in it. The results will simply be amazing. Black tea also works in a similar manner. After shampooing you hair and towel dry, pour the black tea mixture over and through the hair. You may leave it in or rinse the hair.

3. Walnuts

Walnut Essential Oil

This is the most powerful ways of coloring the hair. The outer casings from the walnuts tend to stain everything they touch. You can use the walnut hulls or the powder. To make the dye, crush the walnuts and cover them with boiling water, and soak for about three days. For the powder, put a few teaspoons of the powder in boiling water and let it sink in for a few hours depending on how dark you want the color to be.

4. Carrot Juice and Beet Juice

Beet juice can be used to create a strawberry blonde shade. It is especially works awesome for those with blonde hair. A combination of the two can be used to add red tint to hair. The mixture should be used for about an hour to allow the color to sink in. It should be applied until you reach your desired shade.

Hair color is a great way of achieving a new look. As much as there exists a lots of hair products that can be used to achieve this, a concern arises if you don’t know exactly what they contain. Going natural is always the safest way in everything you do. You are assured to achieve the desired look and at the same time your health is not jeopardized. They are easily available and their application is in no way complicated.
