Homemade Skin Whitening – Skin Whitening Treatment at Home?

For the many people out there who want to lighten their skin tone or dark spots, there is the question of whether or not you can make homemade skin whitening treatments. However, the question should not be “Can you make homemade skin whitening products?” but rather “Should you make homemade skin whitening products?” If given enough ingenuity and the right ingredients, anyone can make just about anything at home. That does not mean that they should though. When it comes to things like lightening your skin, you run the risk of causing yourself more harm than good if you do not use the right ingredients.

Most homemade skin whitening tips tell you to use hydrogen peroxide to get the job done. True, in time, you may notice some lightening with this homemade skin whitening product, but you will get the results at great risk to the health of your overall epidermis. Since hydrogen peroxide is not available to the public at great strengths, that means you would have to use a lot of it and often in order to get the results you would want to get from your homemade skin whitening product. Using high dosages of things like hydrogen peroxide is not recommended, even topically without the oversight of a medical professional.

Some people also still use lemons and lemon juice as a homemade skin whitening agent. To be honest, this method does not really work all that well. It did not work as a homemade skin whitening agent for Jan Brady on “The Brady Bunch” and it likely will not work for you either. Still, it would be better to try the lemons and lemon juice as a homemade skin whitening agent than to use something as harsh as hydrogen peroxide in high dosages on the skin. And, at least you will smell lemon fresh.

Basically, homemade skin whitening products work even less often than the products you buy in stores. It stinks to hear, especially if you had your hopes set on making a homemade skin whitening product to use. If you truly want to try lightening your complexion, you would be better off forgetting about the homemade skin whitening products and trying something that is all natural and made from anti-oxidants. At least by using anti-oxidants, you will be helping your epidermis out instead of causing it even more damage with all of those bad chemicals.
