7 Best Red Carpet Outfits From 2016 Cannes International Film Festival
The Cannes Film Festival held annually in France, by invitation only, is reputed for growing the following for critically acclaimed but low-funded films and, quite naturally, the festival has also been used as a platform for Indie films to break into the mainstream. In fact, that has always been the objective for the festival but, it was originally intended to grow mass market following and producer support for lesser know European films.
In recent years, the Cannes Film Festival has also showcased the best and worst celebrity antics on and off the red carpet. From the same festival that opened in 1947, the 2016 Cannes Film Festival has seen an abundance of best dressed celebs. Below are 7 of the best outfits seen worn by the world’s most stylish:
1. Anna Kendrick
The “Trolls” lead star (or voice)captured the eyes of the world wearing an eye popping, bright marigold, trailed gown from Stella McCartney. The color boldly contrasted with the red carpet and perfectly complemented the actress’s pale, white skin and light brown colored locks.
2. Bella Hadid: Model of the Year 2016 was seen in Cannes wearing no less than a luxurious and stunning Roberto Cavalli dress. The gown was nothing short of tasteful and Bella wore it with grace and sophistication.
3. Kendall Jenner
Sheer, daring and nearly naked, it wouldn’t have been easy for anybody to pull off a Black meshed embroidered gown from Roberto Cavalli — not easy if you’re not Kendall.
4.Cheryl Fernandez-Versini: The English singing sensation took the red carpet with a fresh, almost never-before-seen look that’s nowhere near safe nor conservative. She wore a Naeem Khan trailed gown with blush pink as a dominant color which was accentuated with colorful patterns from the bra-shaped tube down to the trail.
5. Petra Nemcova
The model, tv host and former contestant of “Dancing with the Stars,” Petra has always had something stunning to wear at the Cannes. This year, she opted for a full length, trailed, coral gown that had a low back.
6. Chanel Iman: The American model and Victoria’s Secret Angel was seen on the Premiere of Hands of Stone wearing a sheer, absolutely chic and sexy high slit dress. The ensemble was made with a silver, gliterry top and a blush pink bottom skirt that cut through the waist and had a low back.
7. Jessica Chastain
She wore a stunning, champagne colored Alexander McQueen to the gala premiere of “Money Monster” which stars Jodie Foster. The American actress and producer is best remembered most recently for her role as a CIA Agent in “Zero Dark Thirty” for which she won the Best Actress Award for the Golden Globes in 2012.
This year’s Cannes is done but, keep your eyes open for fashion on the red carpet. Until the next Cannes, everyone!
