The Right Skin Care Regimen After 30

They say age is just a number. Truth is it is a number of radical changes. During your early 20s, you can drink, dance, and party all night and still manage to look exquisite the next day — of course with a little help of makeup. Nonetheless, you probably think that you can always hold on to your youthful looks. If you have not developed good habits during your early 20s, signs of premature skin aging will most likely sprung up in your 30s.

Premature Skin Aging in Your 30s

Even if you are using an anti-aging serum or cream, you are still aging. Aging is an inevitable process within our body that will affect the appearance of our skin. Each of us will have to live through all themany changes within our body as we age. As soon as we hit 30, our skin quickly loses both elastin and collagen.

Poor diet, bad habits, sedentary lifestyle, and external influences such as pollution and harmful UV light can only greatly hasten collagen and elastin damage. When the production of fresh healthy cells is delayed, dead skin cells will not be able to shed as frequently as they used to. As a result, skin will look dry and lackluster due to the slow turnover. This is the time you will be noticing fine lines, dark circles, and sagging on your face.

Steps to Aging Gracefully

Exfoliate and Cleanse

You need to be diligent in taking care of your skin; other signs could surface and fine lines will become more evident otherwise.

1. Cleanse
Cleanse your skin every morning. Cleansing your face is the first and most crucial step in skin care. The face is the thinnest and most delicate part of your skin so use a gentle face wash. Make sure you have removed all traces of makeup before bedtime, followed by cleansing your face yet again.

2. Exfoliate
Dull skin is due to the accumulation of dead skin cells. Exfoliation helps eliminate dead skin cells fast. It is the key technique to delay the natural aging process. Exfoliate at night rather than during the day; however, do not exfoliate more than twice a week. Use an exfoliating face scrub suitable to your skin type. Harsh stripping products can do more bad than good.

3. Protect

Protect Skin From Sun

Never skip sunscreen. The sun is the primary contributor to aging. Choose a sunscreen with a broad UVA/UVB spectrum with SPF30 or greater.

4. Treat and Moisturize
Soothe your skin and keep it well hydrated. Use a moisturizer that will feed your skin with vitamins and antioxidants to keep healthy and radiant. Use a collagen serum

5. Diet and lifestyle
Drink plenty of water daily and observe proper exercise. An active lifestyle and proper diet can benefit you greatly inside and out.

If you want to tackle the onset of premature aging, there is no better time to start but today. We cannot stop aging, but we can surely delay its effects.
