There’s a good and valid reason why most women crave for dewy skin. It looks feminine and natural, and a plump and hydrated skin makes you look instantly younger. Celebrities do it and you know you want it too. At some point, you’ve probably tried to achieve the same fresh-looking dewy visage by slathering on glistening highlighters and water-based foundations and thought you’d glow like J.Lo,but end up looking like a Las Vegas show girl. Not pretty.

So what’s the trick? How would you amp up your glow without looking metallic-weird? Beverly Hills skincare expert, Adina Diaz of Adina Diaz Your Skincare Expert spills some little-known secrets on getting a dewy, perfect face just like famous Hollywood celebrities. Yep, Jennifer Lopez is on the top of that list.

Listen, ladies. Adina explained that our skin changes as the weather changes. Here are some great tips from Adina when it’s time to shedding that dry winter skin:

Tip #1: Buy yourself a humidifier

According to Adina, she keeps a humidifier by her bedside as it is an easy and effective way to keep skin hydrated. It keeps the hands and lips from drying out and you’ll notice in the morning that your face looks remarkably suppler. The moisture from a humidifier also helps ease dry throat all through the changing weather.

Tip #2: Exfoliate!

exfoliate your skin

Exfoliation is a must-have step in your skin care regimen. Proper exfoliation gives a deep clean, removing deep-seated dirt, dry skin and dead skin cells. Clearing the bacteria and goop build up out of your pores leaves skin blemish-free, smoother and glowing.

Here’s an important note: No need to use micro beads. Exfoliating using natural, eco-friendly face scrub is a way to go.

Tip #3: Keep your body hydrated

This isn’t a secret really – hydration has been the ultimate key to remedy dry skin. It’s not about chugging 100 liters of distilled water a day though. In fact, most people find it really difficult to drink 8 glasses of water a day. Adina suggested a clever trick of adding refreshing flavors to plain water such as slices of lemon, mint, cucumber, melon or fennel.

Tip #4: It’s all about your powerful serums with antioxidants and hyaluronic acid

Adina explained, “Serums are the first line of defense when it comes to skincare.”Applying a serum right after washing your face would supply molecular ingredients that can go deeper into the skin, even deeper than your moisturizer. Powerful serums can provide ample protection against the sun’s harmful UV rays and skin damage caused by environmental pollutants.

Tip #5: Use sunscreen

Use sunscreen

The biggest mistake people make during summer is underestimating the damaging effects of the sun’s heat and UV rays. Not protecting yours skin during the harsh summer months can really hurt your skin. “SPF and hats are a must,”she insisted. Adina pointed out that the top three culprits why rapid skin aging occur are genetics, hormones and the sun.

Tip #6: Stop using retinols and other active products during the summer

Using products with retinol as an active ingredient is a no-no because the skin is more sensitive with the sun, heat and sweat. You do not want to irritate your skin during summer, don’t you? Adina suggested using more calming products like Calamine and Willowherb.

Getting a radiant and sexy glow takes a little bit of hard work and a set of “beauty rules” to follow. Beauty tricks do work like dabbing royal jelly on your skin or applying some coconut oil – the so called “MVP of dewy skin.” However, it’s always great to start that most sought-after dewy look from within. By following Adina’s tips above, you can flaunt flawless face in no time.
