Swollen Eye Bag – The Main Causes

Waking up and facing a swollen eye bag can be frustrating. It’s a common issue that most don’t want to face but one that will nonetheless need to be dealt with if you want to look your best. A swollen eye bag won’t cause any major health concerns and usually isn’t a symptom of any, but it can still give you a worn down, tired, old look that most would rather avoid. Before you take the steps to eliminate a swollen eye bag, be sure that you take the time to learn just what the main causes of it are. Knowing the causes can help you avoid and eliminate the issue completely.

Scientifically speaking, swollen eye bag is caused by a few things. The muscles and tissues that are around your eyes will grow weaker and begin to droop. Naturally occurring fat deposits and fluids can build up as well and with weaker muscles that can’t hold them properly gravity will take hold and they’ll form into bags under the eyes – a swollen eye bag. The skin will thin and become weaker as well, with a darkened appearance to go along with the puffiness. Blood circulation can also play a role in the development of swollen eye bag.

While it’s easy to understand the scientific causes of swollen eye bag, pinpoint the specific issue that triggered it can be a bit more difficult. A lot of different factors can lead to swollen eye bag. One is a lack of sleep, and getting the right amount of beauty rest is an important part of preventing swollen eye bag. High levels of stress can also contribute to the issue, as can regular exposure to the sun’s harmful UV rays. Figure out just what the issues are concerning your specific swollen eye bag if you want to prevent it from becoming a major issue.

Your diet can play a big role as well. Swollen eye bag can be caused by too much salt, caffeine, or alcohol. It’s also an issue among those who don’t eat properly since Vitamin K, B12, and C deficiencies can reduce your muscle strength and blood flow and lead to swollen eye bag. And smoking is a major cause of swollen eye bag as well. Sadly, in some cases the cause is simple aging and can’t be avoided. But no matter the specific cause, there are numerous solutions out there that can help reduce your eye bags successfully.
