Will Eyelashes Grow Back After Being Burned?

Know if your precious eyelashes can grow back

So, you were grilling out back over the weekend and accidentally burnt off your eyelashes. Once you’ve had a good cry over your poor, singed little lashes, you will need to decide just how you’re going to repair this damage. However, unless the damage is extreme and you have severe burns around or on the lash area, you can relax because your eyelashes absolutely can grow back. Think about this – when you get your hair cut, your hair grows back so your eyelashes can regenerate even after they’ve been burnt or singed. There are even eyelash enhancer products you can use in the meantime to disguise your missing lashes.

Will Eyelashes Grow Back After Being Burned?

Longer eyelashes are considered a sign of feminine beauty, and indeed, they do naturally outline the eyes and draw considerable attention to the eyes in many ways. However, since few women are naturally lucky enough to grow thick and luscious lashes, they often turn to the best eyelash enhancer products to help. This is nothing new, in fact, since even the ancient Egyptians used kohl to outline and darken their lashes. Today’s products might be a little more sophisticated but work on the same principle – to create stunning and long lashes, or at least the optical illusion of such.

Since even burnt eyelashes can grow back given enough time, it is important that you encourage their re-growth by using the best eyelash enhancer products like castor oil[1], olive oil[2] or Vaseline. These products are gentle and so they won’t irritate the eyes any further than they already are after having the lashes singed off, and they will help strengthen what is left of your lashes so they can grow back long and strong. These products do take several weeks to work, but they are affordable and easy to use and can really help the lashes get stronger while they grow out.

If this is not a fast enough solution for you, you might think about using the best eyelash enhancer product available: eyelash extensions. These can supplement your lashes until they can re-grow. Extensions are a temporary solution, and may be available at a beauty supply store or you might have to visit a salon. However, these enhancers will easily be able to disguise your burnt lashes while your new ones grow in. This will only work for those who have at least remnants of lashes to adhere to, so if all of your lashes got burnt off, you will simply have to wait until your new ones grow in and wear sunglasses a lot.
